I must admit that I do not like BMW. I am no BMW driver. I have grown up in a city where BMW always was rather cads-like. Broader, thicker, harder, penis substitute. Only one BMW has delighted me. The BMW Z8. I think this is a masterpiece. Wonderful, bichy and, nevertheless, a diva. At that time the Z8 has immediately impressed me. However, there are often decoy calls on the part of BMW which gets me in temptation.
Some how the BMW 6th Convertible almost convinced me. Now a new BMW stands again in my underground parking garage. More precisely, a BMW Z4 m coupé. Bright red, with creases flown through and four crispy tailpipes which are centrically arranged.
Finally, once again one Pro Bangle car. Maybe we should left dear Chris with the coupés and convertibles and save ourselves the cynicism for the disfigured limousines. Will this coupé make it, to give myself to the Bavarian car art?
The masculine front sets the tone on the left highway track. The whole design is to be compared to a perfect custom-made suit. The dynamic lines spread out till rear. It happened a lot since then the, for me too femininely, advisable roadster version of the Z4 was thrown on the market.
A new attempt to release the Z also as a coupé successfully. After the Z3 coupé version were already received with not tender criticism and rather denoted condescendingly as a "sneaker". Meanwhile the larger-than-life cheese worn-out shoe develops, however, to a popular cult object. The new coupé has indeed the potential to reach cult status not only as a second-hand car.
The back wheels are powered with a 6-cylinder 343 PS M. But on the paper can be a lot. Let’s talk straight to the cart. Already the starting of the engine lets my neighbours wince irritated once more. In the undertour area the Z4 M has one, sorry for this expression, fucking horny sound.
My subconsciousness suggests me, that I will have much pleasure with this car and my hands claws expectantly in the thick steering wheel. My eyes stop at the wonderfully made speedometer elements which provide wildly twitching an impression of the Three-Dimension
So it should also be. Barely arrived at the country road, it goes thrilling in the sports mode in the curves. I drive from curve to curve without having the thought that the achievement is to low. Nevertheless, it becomes also explicit fast that this car needs a real man's hand with a lot of sensitiveness.
The rear tends with pleasure to wag but in the quick curve changing it is experienced decelerate from the electronic. To clutch at the ESP counter is not to be recommended to unskilled drivers, because with this the Z4 mutates to an uncontrollable beast, which can be held only with experience in the curves. Should you not keep your hands off or belong to those " I-long-for-the-next-bark-of-a-tree"-driver… then I can only say: Welcome to the driving pleasure. And if you did the first Drifts with this baby, the cheque is virtually already signed for this piece of jewellery.
The chassis is tuned tightly and not recommend for intervertebral-discs-afflicted souls. Especially if you did a long and speedy highway journey in the sports mode, your back will consider the way to the next lawyer to sue you for compensation.
Here as a customer you still have the choice between regularly with 250 km/h tamed version or the V Max's raised on 275 km/h which will only be activated by presenting a special safety driving training proof. Enough, to show the 250 driving grandpa the middle finger in the back window nastily laughing, not enough, in order to expel the worst competitor Porsche Cayman S in his V Max's barriers. Without the taming, 300 km/h are easily to do and so the Z4 M could also run down the Zuffenhausener coupé. Then here the comforting thought probably counts, I would be able to but I am not allowed. Damn!
The car has even with speeds from more than 200 always enough achievement reserves which he passes on to the back wheels when required. The Porsche similar yelping of the exhaust system brings the party mood on the climax.
Result: To whom the Porsche Cayman S is too perfectly, the SLK too Lifestyle-like and the Audi TT too clean, has here a classy coupé with rough edges. A car which is convincing by driving pleasure, but also requires a certain portion of courage to be able to use all the limits of this small power machine really completely.
I stand furthermore to Porsche Cayman S but the Z4 M is on the right way to the perfect sportsman's coupé. And while I’m expecting quite impatiently the Z5 M coupé, I will enjoy it to choke the Z4 M drivers on the streets with the Porsche Cayman S.
